You visited the doctor and got to know that you are suffering from high blood pressure but you don't know or were not told the cause of it. Then this post will help you as it reveal the major causes of high blood pressure.
- Age, yes, Most people don't have a clue that age is one of the biggest factor of high blood pressure. After the age of 40yrs, about 37% of a population has high blood pressure and ad after the age of 60, over 71% of the population has hypertension. So if you are above that age of 40yrs, there are huge chances that you will be having high blood pressure, this may not be your fault but it is your responsibility to fix it right away.
- Genetic and family history: at time high blood pressure might be because of family history, I mean gene, maybe it runs through the family, from your great to your grand father and then to your father and finally to you, so it really is not your fault but you should take note of this and make sure it doesn't affect you nor your offspring.
- Smoking, As we all know, smoking has no health benefit and it is a major causes of high blood pressure. There is no other solution to this than for you to quit smoking once and for all, no partial smoking or partial quitting, you just have to avoid it completely.
- Alcohol, well a little bit of alcohol is ok especially if it is organic red wine but frequent and excessive consumption of alcohol is deadly and causes damages to your heart, arteries and liver over time. This is because alcohol is a toxic and it acidic, both properties are bad for your body, so stay away from excessive consumption of alcohol and you will feel better.
- Being overweight, it is also a general knowledge that excess weight gain also has no health benefit, just like smoking, the best time for you to lose weight now, now when you are still young because the older you get the garde it becomes to lose unwanted fat.

- Sodium, most of us don't actually take note of this but if also one of the major causes of high blood pressure, we consume sodium almost everyday if not everyday, we take sodium in table salt. Table salt has a lot of benefit but salt found in processed food are bar for you, however natural salt is good for you and can actually help lower blood pressure.
- Stress, well most of us know this as it is the well known causes of high blood pressure. Stress is bad for the human health which unfortunately is unavoidable and you can get rid of, the important thing is the meaning or attitude you give to stressful situation, like if you freak out, get negative and focus on the problem the entire time, the you are giving your body extra stress, what you should be doing is focusing on the solution and to assure yourself that the problem will get solved eventually. Apart worrying won't solve or get rid of the problem you are facing.
- Lack of physical activities, this causes a lot, when you sit around all day you tend to gain more weight, obesity, that what it causes and as already said, it gives no health benefit, so just get do some exercise or just get out and walk daily, even of it is just for 15-20 minute. It would really go a long way to help you.

- Medication, well many heart medication are only good for short term use. When you continue to use them over a long time, then they could cause some problems for you, like heart problems as well, some can increase your cholesterol level, blood level or blood pressure level and they can actually decrease blood flow and circulation. Again, they cab actually cause extra stress on your liver and kidney which causes more problems for your health.
